Body Language Project Post-Production/Final Piece

15 Dec

I don’t have the entire film without sound anymore , so i can just show the very final one. I had huge problems with Final Cut, so i’m not completely satisfied about my final work. At least i’ve managed to finish it in time to receive a good critique from my teacher and classmates.

Body Language Project Production: Line test and cut outs

14 Dec

Here you have a line test of one of the first scenes which is about 37 frames.

These were some cut outs i’ve made for the chasing scenes. I had run out of time so one of the teachers suggested me to use stop motion instead of hand drawing the frame because it would have been quicker.

Body Language Project Pre-Production: Hare Studies and Character Design

As soon as i got the storyboard done,  I started studying the animal.  Here you have some sketches showing poses and a running cycle, which helped me a lot during the animation process! I personally sketched the cycle by watching a video on You Tube and pausing it. I think i got it quite right, but i wish i could have found something from Muybridge to help me with the “in between” frames.

Body Language Project Pre-Production: Ideas Development and Storyboard

11 Dec

The aim of the project was to create an animation/film which would have expressed some kind of body language.

Of course i decided i wanted to go for an hand-drawn animation, and here are my first ideas development

I’d found this quotation from Leonardo Da Vinci, and decided to base my narrative sequence on it. I chose a hare as the main character, because it’s an animal who’s naturally shy and cautios, so to avoid the commonplace  ”scared as a rabbit”.

Hare and rabbits cannot live without fear, or they would disappear from this world.  They have to fear all their predator to protect their life.

Established the narrative sequence, i moved on to the storyboard.

Due to lack of time, this scenes were cutted.
